PINETOWN GYMNASTICS CLUB

Gymnastics is one of the most fundamental and exciting of all physical activities! It develops basic co-ordination, flexibility, strength, personal discipline, and self-confidence. Your investment in gymnastics will benefit you for years. Pinetown Gymnastics offers high-quality instruction for all ages and performance levels. Our club has the highest membership in Kwa-Zulu Natal, and is also the best equipped Our club boasts the highest membership in KZN, and is also the best equipped.

MISSION STATEMENT / OBJECTIVES

• To advance, promote & improve gymnastics in all aspects of the club:
• Affiliate to, and co-operate with the KwaZulu Natal Gymnastics Union
• Select and train teams and individuals to represent the club / Province / Country in       competitions and displays
• Social responsibility – actively pursue regional & national guidelines, with funding & local     initiatives within the club
• Partnering with the local council, Department of Sport & Recreation and National Lotteries   Distribution Trust Fund

OUR ACHIEVEMENTS

Luke James National Senior men's team member - placed 3rd overall at the 2024 African Championships in Morocco with gold medals for his floor and vault final routines and a bronze medal on the horizontal bar.

Demi Robbertson came 3rd overall in Level 9 at Gym Games 2019

Charles Phillips achieved 2 medals at the Trisome Games (down syndrome multi-code games) in Turkey - Gold for his parallel bar final routine and bronze for his horizontal bar routine in the T21 senior men's division

CLASS CATEGORIES & TIMES

Levels 1 - 3

At least 1.5 hours per week but preferably 2 x weekly sessions especially from Level 2 and up.

What will be taught:

Specialization in a Gymnastics Discipline – competitions that allow the gymnast to measure performance.

Levels 4 - 8

Level 4 will be at least 3 hours per week.
Level 5&6 will require at least 4 hours per week.
Level 7&8 will require at least 6 hours per week.

What will be taught:

Becoming a Consistent Competitor against others in provincial and national events – selection for provincial teams and national teams at regional events.

Level 9 & Olympics

At least 6 sessions per week at a minimum of 18 hours.

What will be taught:

Internationale Excellence and Podium Performances locally and internationally – selection for national teams.
